Home/Privacy Film

You can see out, but nobody can see in.

A bedroom that faces the neighbours, a boardroom behind clear glass, a clinic window on a busy street: they all need the same fix. Privacy film blocks the view in while daylight keeps coming through. Some films do it by day; frost and mirror finishes hold it around the clock.

Frost & mirror finishes hold privacy day and night

Glass works both ways. Until you treat it.

Clear glass gives everyone outside the same view you paid for inside. Curtains fix that by killing the daylight; walls fix it by killing the room. Privacy film fixes it on the glass itself, and the right choice depends on which hours matter to you.

Reflective and dark films give strong daytime privacy and reject heat at the same time, the choice for street-facing homes, offices and storefronts. Frosted and mirror finishes don't depend on daylight at all: bathrooms, meeting rooms and clinic windows stay screened at midnight as at noon.

In short

Privacy film comes in two kinds. Reflective and dark tints hide the room by day and cut cooling bills as a bonus; frosted and mirror finishes block the view day and night while keeping the room bright. We match the film to your hours.

The problem

Four situations where nobody should see in.

Same glass, different hours. Each situation has a film built for it.

01

Overlooked bedrooms & lounges

Neighbouring windows and the street look straight into the rooms your family lives in.

One-way mirror film by day; frost where night matters.
02

Meeting rooms on display

Glass partitions keep offices bright but put every meeting and screen on show.

Frost bands at eye level keep light and discretion.
03

Street-facing clinics & counters

Patients, tellers and back offices sit in full view of a busy footpath.

Reflective film turns the shopfront into a daytime mirror.
04

Bathrooms & stairwells

Rooms that need light through the glass but never a view, at any hour.

Full frost turns glass translucent, day and night.

Heat rejected too
Daytime privacy

Mirror on the outside. Window on the inside.

One-way mirror and dark reflective films use the light balance: as long as it is brighter outside than in, the street sees a mirror and you keep your view. The same coating rejects most of the sun's heat, so the room gets cooler as it gets private.

One honest caveat. After dark, with your lights on, the balance flips. For rooms that must stay private at night, pair reflective film with curtains, or choose a frost.

24/7
No light balance needed
Around the clock

Frost and mirror finishes never clock off.

Frosted film turns glass translucent: daylight keeps pouring through while the view is obscured from both sides, at every hour. White matt and opaque mirror films go further and block the view completely. Our day and night mirror film passes just 1.5% of light for observation glazing.

This is the film family for bathrooms, meeting rooms, clinics, and any bedroom window where night privacy is non-negotiable.

Why film

Privacy, and the room stays bright.

Daylight stays

Frosted and gradient films obscure the view, not the light. Rooms stay bright and open where curtains and blinds would shut them down.

Cooler as well as private

The dark and reflective privacy films are solar films too, rejecting up to 80% of total solar energy while they screen the room.

Matched to your hours

Day-only or around the clock: we specify by when the room needs to be private, not by what happens to be on the shelf.

Proof, not promises

Privacy is a specification, not a guess.

The films that screen bank counters, boardrooms and federal government offices are the same ones that keep a family lounge out of the neighbours' view. Every recommendation states its VLT and finish, so you know exactly what the glass will and will not show.

Reflectiv MDN 500 Day & Night Mirror, decorative film

MDN 500 Day & Night Mirror

One-way mirror, evening-enhanced

A one-way mirror built for the evening problem: standard mirror film weakens once inside lights outshine the sky. MDN 500 passes just 1.5% of light, so interior visibility after dark stays far more limited than a standard mirror's. Rooms run darker and lean on artificial lighting. Suited to overlooked ground floors, clinics and executive offices.

Day privacy or day-and-night? The survey confirms the finish, the VLT and the right side of the glass for your rooms.

Common questions

Privacy film, answered.

Is there a film where I can see out but people cannot see in?

Yes, one-way mirror film. It reflects on the brighter side of the glass, so in daylight the street sees a mirror while you keep your view out. The effect depends on the light balance: it needs to be brighter outside than inside.

Will my privacy film still work at night?

It depends on the type. Reflective and dark tinted films rely on daylight; once your lights are on after dark, the balance flips and the room becomes visible, so pair them with curtains at night. Frosted, white matt and opaque mirror films do not depend on light and keep blocking the view around the clock.

Which privacy film keeps the room bright?

Frosted film. It turns the glass translucent, so daylight keeps flowing through while the view is obscured in both directions, day and night. That is why it is the standard choice for bathrooms, partitions and street-facing rooms that cannot afford to go dark.

What do offices use for meeting-room privacy?

Most offices use frosted film, either covering the full pane or as a band at seated eye level, so the room reads as discreet without losing daylight or the open feel. Gradient films that fade upward and cut patterns are common where the design should stay light.

What is the most private film you install?

For total concealment, opaque mirror and white matt films block the view completely from one or both sides. Among see-through options, our day and night mirror film passes just 1.5% of visible light. The right choice depends on whether you still need a view out, confirmed at a site survey.

Does privacy film also cut heat and glare?

The dark and reflective privacy films do both jobs at once: the same coating that hides the room rejects most of the sun's heat, up to 80% of total solar energy on our strongest reflective films. Frosted films are chosen for light and concealment rather than heat, though they still soften glare.

Make your glass private.

Tell us which hours matter and we'll recommend the finish, or book a site survey and see samples on your own windows.
