SOL 112 posts the strongest number of any external silver we have carried: 83% of total solar energy rejected at a solar factor of 0.15. It manages that by reflection rather than absorption. 68% of the sun's energy is turned straight back off the facade and only 8% transmitted, which is the gentlest way for the glass itself to shed the load.
Reflectiv keeps the promise modest: the film holds the glass transparent and does not scatter light, blocks 99% of UV, and behaves as Euroclass B-S1,d0 in fire. Application is external at 5°C or warmer, onto glass matched against Reflectiv's own prescription table, with the polycarbonate caution that applies across the range.
It is sputter-metallized, phased out by the manufacturer, and sold from remaining stock with a five year warranty on rolls 1.52 metres wide. If the stock runs out before a project starts, SOL 102 is the continuing film closest to it, giving up four points of rejection in exchange for availability.
Which glass it suits
SOL 112 goes on the outside face, onto glass confirmed against Reflectiv's prescription table at the survey. High-reflection external silvers are the safe pattern for big sealed units because the energy never enters the pane. The trade is a visibly mirrored facade, which is either the point or the problem.
