MIR 600 is the high-performance one-way mirror: mirror on the daylight side, an ordinary view from within, natural light still passing. Reflectiv recommends it particularly for ground-floor offices and meeting rooms, anywhere passers-by are close to the glass and the people inside still need to see out.
It is a crystal PET film at 80 microns with UVA transmission held to 5%. Fire rating is Euroclass B-S1,d0, application is to the inside face at a minimum of 5°C, and in service it tolerates minus 20 to plus 80°C. Reflectiv quotes 12 to 15 years of vertical durability in central Europe and warrants it for five years on glazing out of direct sun.
The rule that governs every one-way mirror applies here too: the mirror faces the brighter side. By day that is the street. After dark, with lights on inside, the effect reverses, so rooms used at night pair it with blinds or curtains. For a permanent both-sides mirror the films are MIR 800 and MIR 900; for decorative colour mirrors, the MIR 500 range.
Which glass it suits
MIR 600 is applied to the inside face and is designed for any type of normal clear glass, including the sealed units on office frontages. Give it thirty days before the first clean, then non-abrasive cleaners without ammonia so the mirror coat stays unscratched. Avoid application onto polycarbonate, which outgasses and bubbles.
