STC 900 is not a finish, it is a shield. It is 90 microns of colourless PVC that grips glass by static with no adhesive at all, applied dry and bubble free, and it exists to keep finished glazing intact through the messy end of a job.
That covers fit-out and handover, when the glass is in but the trades are not out, and it covers transit. Reflectiv sells it for protecting glass and synthetic panels in transport as well as in buildings. It takes scratches, knocks and dust, then peels off clean and goes back up on the next job, which is the part that makes it economic.
It goes on inside or outside, and Reflectiv quotes durability of 10 years indoors and 5 years outdoors, far beyond any building programme. Rolls are 1.22 metres wide by 300 metres. Being a static film, it needs a smooth, clean, dry pane to hold, so it is a glass product rather than a general surface wrap.
Which glass it suits
STC 900 clings by static to smooth glass on either face, inside or out, with no adhesive, primer or wet application. Because it holds by static rather than glue, the pane has to be clean, flat and dry; textured, curved or dusty glass will not keep it. It leaves no residue when it comes off, which is the whole reason to use it over tape and sheeting.
