Heat rejection film from Reflectiv

A photochromic film for vehicle glazing, fitted on the inside of the glass. It darkens as sunlight strengthens and goes clear again in shade, so the tint tracks the light through the day. It rejects 92% of infrared and 99% of ultraviolet. This is an automotive film, not an architectural one, and it is fitted and quoted at the studio per vehicle. Reflectiv still lists it; we are not holding stock, so ask us about lead time or a fixed-tint alternative.

FOTO 450 is a photochromic film for vehicle glass. It tints itself according to ultraviolet exposure, so it darkens as the sun strengthens and clears again in shade or after dark. Visible light transmission runs between 45% and 75% depending on conditions.

The heat numbers do not swing with the tint. 92% of infrared and 99% of ultraviolet are rejected throughout. The build is 75 microns of PET with a PSA acrylate adhesive, fitted to the inside of the glass, rated Euroclass B-s1, d0, with a durability of 10 years. Reflectiv also makes FOTO 200, which runs darker at 20% to 50%.

This is an automotive film and it sits in the automotive part of Reflectiv's range, not the architectural part. It is fitted and quoted per vehicle at the studio rather than by the square metre, and the legal tint limit for the road is the owner's to confirm before fitting. Rolls run 1.52 metres wide in 2.5, 5, 10 and 30 metre lengths.

Which glass it suits

FOTO 450 is fitted to the inside of vehicle glazing, not to building glass. Its behaviour depends on ultraviolet reaching the film, so it responds to sunlight rather than to heat or to visible brightness, and it sits near its clear state in shade and at night. For architectural glazing, a fixed-tint solar or IR film is the right product instead.
