Window film in Muzaffarabad

Window film supplied and installed in Muzaffarabad by Protek Devices, authorized for 3M, TotalGard and Reflectiv since 2000. Heat, safety and privacy film, specified for Muzaffarabad's climate.

In the valley, at the confluence.

Muzaffarabad sits where the Neelum meets the Jhelum, in a steep valley where the light comes off the water and the slopes.

The brief is the northern one: ultraviolet and glare rather than heat, with winter warmth worth keeping. Safety film also has a real constituency here given the seismic history.

In short

Protek Devices installs 3M, TotalGard and Reflectiv window film in Muzaffarabad. Five to six hours from Lahore, arranged as a planned trip. Commercial work starts with an on-site survey; homes are usually filmed in a single visit.

What Muzaffarabad's climate asks of the glass.

Cooler air, but thinner air too: ultraviolet climbs sharply with altitude, and snow on the ground reflects it back up at the glass. The problem here is rarely heat. It is fading, glare, and warmth escaping through the pane in winter.

What we specify here

Ultraviolet rejection without solar rejection — a clear film that blocks 99% of UV protects furnishings and skin while letting the winter sun through to do its job. Rejecting solar gain here would make rooms harder to heat, not more comfortable.

Worth knowing

Double glazing is more common at altitude, and film on the wrong face of a sealed unit causes problems. Externally-applied films exist for exactly this and we specify them where the glazing calls for it.

Getting to Muzaffarabad

Five to six hours from Lahore, arranged as a planned trip.

We work throughout Pakistan, and the portfolio on this site lags the work — no Muzaffarabad install is written up yet. We would rather say that than show you someone else's building and imply it was ours.

Coverage

Across Muzaffarabad.

We fit film throughout the city, including Upper Adda, Chattar Domel, Neelum Road and Secretariat. Nowhere is off the list; these are simply the areas we are asked for most.

Questions

Muzaffarabad installs, answered.

Does film help in an earthquake?

It holds broken glass in the frame rather than letting it fall in shards, which is a genuine and documented benefit in a seismic event. It does nothing for the structure itself — it is about what the glazing does when the building moves.

It is cold here. Why would we reject solar heat?

You would not, and we would not suggest it. At altitude the problem is ultraviolet, not heat — thin air lets more of it through and snow reflects it back up at the glass. A clear film blocking 99% of UV protects furnishings and skin while letting the winter sun through to warm the room, which is exactly what you want.

Our windows are double glazed. Is film safe on them?

It needs care. Double glazing is more common at altitude, and the wrong film on the wrong face of a sealed unit traps heat between the panes and can stress the seal. Externally-applied films are made for this situation and we specify them where the glazing calls for it.
