The darkest 3M Color Stable shade at 8% light transmission. Colour-stable dyed polyester with ceramic nano-particles that never fades to purple. Rejects 64% of total solar energy, cuts glare by 91% and blocks 99% of UV, with real daytime privacy for passengers and contents. Fitted at our studio and priced per vehicle.
CS5 is the deepest shade in 3M's Color Stable series. Only 8% of visible light comes through, so by day the cabin and whatever is left on the seats stay out of sight, and glare drops by 91%. It rejects 64% of total solar energy and 99% of UV; infrared rejection is 40% over 900 to 1,000 nm and 49% of solar infrared energy across the full band, on 6 mm clear glass per 3M's product bulletin. Like the rest of the series it holds its colour instead of fading to purple.
It is a non-metallised polyester film with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive and an abrasion-resistant coating: no interference with phones, GPS or radio, and a surface that stands up to window winding and cleaning. Fitted wet to the inside of the glass and heat-shrunk to curves; the car can be driven after 24 hours.
A shade this dark is for the rear doors and back glass, and the legal tint limit on the road is the owner's to confirm before fitting. It is priced per vehicle at the studio, not by the square foot. Choose it in the finder and request a callback, or ask the specialist on the call.
Fitted to the inside of vehicle glass, flat or curved, on the rear doors and back glass where a deep shade is wanted. At 8% light transmission it is not a front-glass film. Not an architectural film: for building glass that needs privacy, the finder's privacy range is priced by the square foot.
