3M Color Stable in a medium 38% shade. Dyed polyester with ceramic nano-particles, colour-stable by design: it holds its shade instead of fading to purple. Rejects 51% of total solar energy, cuts glare by 57% and blocks 99% of UV. Fitted at our studio and priced per vehicle.

Cheap dyed tint turns purple because the dye breaks down in sunlight. 3M's Color Stable series uses a patented dye technology infused with ceramic nano-particles, so the shade you choose is the shade the car keeps. CS35 is the medium rung: 38% of visible light comes through, 51% of total solar energy is rejected, glare drops by 57%, and 99% of UV is blocked. Infrared rejection is 32% over 900 to 1,000 nm and 45% of solar infrared energy across the full band, on 6 mm clear glass per 3M's product bulletin.

It is a non-metallised polyester film with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive and an abrasion-resistant coating, so it does not interfere with phones, GPS or radio and it survives window winding and cleaning. It is fitted wet to the inside of the glass, heat-shrunk to curves, and the car can be driven after 24 hours.

As with every automotive film we fit, it is priced per vehicle at the studio rather than by the square foot. Choose it in the finder and request a callback, or ask the specialist to recommend the shade on the call. The legal tint limit on the road is the owner's to confirm.

Which glass it suits

Fitted to the inside of vehicle glass, flat or curved. A medium shade like this normally goes on the rear doors and back glass; the front glass takes a lighter film where the rules require it, which is what Crystalline 70 is for. Not an architectural film.
