Window film in Mardan

Window film supplied and installed in Mardan by Protek Devices, authorized for 3M, TotalGard and Reflectiv since 2000. Heat, safety and privacy film, specified for Mardan's climate.

Covered alongside Peshawar.

Mardan sits an hour beyond Peshawar and is arranged with it, which keeps the travel proportionate for both.

The climate is the same valley heat, and the work is mostly commercial frontages and domestic glazing on unshaded elevations.

In short

Protek Devices installs 3M, TotalGard and Reflectiv window film in Mardan. Five to six hours from Lahore; covered with Peshawar. Commercial work starts with an on-site survey; homes are usually filmed in a single visit.

What Mardan's climate asks of the glass.

Hot, dry summers on the Peshawar valley floor, with dust that settles on everything and a winter that is mild but genuinely cold at night. Glazing takes both a hard summer solar load and a lot of airborne grit.

What we specify here

High solar rejection for the summer, and a hard-coat surface that survives being cleaned often. Where security is part of the brief, anti-shatter film goes on before the solar film rather than instead of it — the two are not alternatives.

Getting to Mardan

Five to six hours from Lahore; covered with Peshawar.

We work throughout Pakistan, and the portfolio on this site lags the work — no Mardan install is written up yet. We would rather say that than show you someone else's building and imply it was ours.

Coverage

Across Mardan.

We fit film throughout the city, including Cantt, Sheikh Maltoon Town, Bank Road and Nowshera Road. Nowhere is off the list; these are simply the areas we are asked for most.

Questions

Mardan installs, answered.

How is the film cleaned?

Plenty of water, a soft cloth or a squeegee, and no abrasive. What damages film is grit dragged across it with a dry cloth. Give it a fortnight to cure before the first clean and it will outlast most of what else is in the room.

Will the dust damage the film?

Not if the right film is fitted and it is cleaned sensibly. Films carry a hard scratch-resistant coating on the exposed face; what damages them is grit dragged across the surface with a dry cloth. Plenty of water, a soft cloth, no abrasive — that is the whole of it.

Can we have heat control and security on the same glass?

Yes, and it is a common brief here. Either a single film that does both, or an anti-shatter layer with a solar film specified to work with it. The survey decides which, based on the glass and what the building needs to withstand.
